About the Group

Friends Together is still a relatively new group (we have been going about 2 years) although we already have well over 200 members of all ages.

We aim to provide social events that are relaxed and friendly, where you can meet new people and make new friends.  We provide people with an alternative to the "commercial scene".  People of all ages are welcome; our age group currently ranges from teenagers to guys in their sixties.

We're a very informal group and by joining us you're not committing yourself to anything.  You can come along to as many, or as few, of the social events as you like.  However, I would recommend that you try and come along to more than one event, as it will naturally take a little time for you to make friends (please don't turn up for one evening with the expectation of making loads of friends instantly, it will take a little time to get to know your fellow members).  We have a large membership and different people will come along to different events, plus new people are always joining.

We won't ask anything of you, unless, of course, you're prepared to help out with organising something.  Everyone is free to organise their own event, whether it be something that they like doing and feel that others would enjoy, or just holding an event in your local area.  All you have to do is supply me with details and I will e-mail these to the rest of the group.

Joining our Group couldn't be easier - no membership is required and there are no fees.  All you need to do is to contact me to let me know that you're interested and I’ll add you to our mailing list, so that you're kept up to date with the latest events taking place.  Don't worry though, your e-mail address will not be disclosed to any other members.  I don't disclose e-mail addresses, as this in not an online chat facility (sorry, but it's not).  The idea behind the Group is to get people to go out and meet each other.  You are, of course, free to pass your contact details onto people you meet at our events - thats what it's all about, meeting people and making friends.
